A self-sufficient complex of the Bahrain Specialist Hospital located on a plot of 10,000 sq.m overlooking the historical Sheikh Salman Fort and Riffa Views. The building consists of a basement and 7 floors above ground with a total built-up area of 55,000 sq.m accommodating 170 beds and 645 cars.
The site is efficiently used to ensure proper public drop off, several accesses to various parking levels and easy access to the emergency department located on the ground floor. The building is organized up to the 4th floor into two sections parking at the rear & facilities fronting the main road. Above that, the building takes a U shape providing facilities with maximum natural light along double-loaded corridors. The spatial organisation considers all medical facility requirements in terms of distribution, circulation, and adjacency.
The exterior demonstrates craftsmanship in massing, materiality & overall image that defines the new complex of the BSH.
