The project is located in a prime location of Al Maqtaa, an area totalling 306,000 sq.m known for deep heritage and cultural values. It was initiated due to the growing interest in destinations celebrating local heritage and traditions with an audience of both residents and visitors.
It is a mixed-use development including specialized retail and F&B activities, together with other hospitality, leisure and entertainment amenities such as a falconry centre and performance art centre.
Hence, the proposed design draws inspiration from the traditional coastal architecture of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Its layout is based on tradition organic urban form but at the same time skillfully incorporate vehicular circulations, for visitors, staff, and services, that do not intercept with pedestrian movements.
The project in terms of urban layout, building forms and architectural elements, demonstrates the potentials of local architecture, in a modern world.
