Located in a mainly residential area of Janabiya on a plot of 1,851 sq.m with a total built up area reaching 1.197 sq.m. catering for 920 praying persons. The project accommodates two separate ablution areas in the basement; men praying hall and moa’then flat in ground floor; and women praying hall and emam flat in the first floor.
The layout is developed guided by the site shape, the need to separate between men and women accesses, and most importantly the qibla direction; hence the plan has been twisted within the plot to cater for these aspects. This creates a dynamic plan with maximum land utilization and appropriate accesses to the mosque from the surrounding areas. The theme is inspired by egyptian islamic architecture in which domes and crossed vaulted are used to shape an interesting and undulating rhythm in the façades. This was complemented by the main dome that rise up to 19 m and the minaret up to 29 m; a landmark is being established.
